Selim Oktar is founder and president of StrategiCo, an international strategic communications company and business advisory service based in Istanbul for companies operating in the Balkans, the Caucasus, Central Asia, the Middle East, North Africa and Turkey.
He has more than 30 years of experience in strategic and creative planning, market research and financial analysis, new business and market development, corporate brand management, communications and high-level political campaigns.
As former CEO of Shift Advertisement & Communications, he managed projects in Azerbaijan, Moldova, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan and Russia. His clients have included the Koc Group, the Undersecretary of Defence, Anadolu Efes and Telia Sonera. In 2012, StrategiCo co-managed the Eurasia Economic Summit, a meeting of more than 1000 influential politicians, intellectuals and business leaders, the largest event in the region.
Selim Oktar is president of Istanbul University and a visiting professor at Koc University where he teaches MBA courses on conflict management and strategic thinking. He has organized and run political campaigns for high-level officials.
